I don’t usually pay too much attention to elections. Each election I pretty much would look at the candidates and I chose who I hate less. Then I don’t vote.
2016 was pretty much the same until it jumped the shark for me. It oozed its way into my work on a level I never thought possible. It even motivated me to vote this election.
Before the election my work was about what is real and what is not. What is the truth and what is a lie I twisted the photos using reality, to create something that was both real and fake. I wanted see how many way I could do this. I want talk about how much is false/fake in the real world. How much things are processed and twisted to suit our needs.
With the Trump/Clinton 2016 election a master liar manipulated a country on fear and lies. It disturbed me because deep down I thought the people would see through it all. A percentage of the population wanted to see what they wanted to see and they have this fantasy of how things are going to end up.
I take comfort in my pictures. Not just the pictures in this series, but all my pictures. They are my reality. How much truth is in it is up to me,
